1. Information We Collect

Shopify Store Data

When you install ShopBar, we access the following data through the Shopify API:

• Your shop domain and store name
• Theme information (active theme ID and name) to detect app embed status
• Product and collection titles, handles, and images — only when you select them to add to the bar
• Store metafields in the sticky_bar namespace that we create to store your bar settings

App Configuration Data

We store the following settings in our own database, linked to your shop domain:

• Bar items (titles, links, image URLs)
• Appearance settings (colors, font family, font sizes, image style)
• Bar behavior settings (enabled/disabled, sticky mode)

Usage Data

We may automatically collect technical information such as server logs, IP addresses, browser type, and access timestamps for the purpose of security monitoring and troubleshooting. This data is not linked to individual merchants beyond what is necessary for operating the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect solely to:

• Provide and operate the ShopBar app and its features
• Save and sync your bar configuration across sessions
• Display your bar correctly on your storefront via theme app embed
• Respond to support requests you send us
• Monitor the performance and security of the App
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your store data for advertising, marketing profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the App's functionality.

3. Shopify API Data Access

ShopBar accesses your Shopify store through the official Shopify API using OAuth authentication. The scopes we request are limited to what is necessary to run the app:

• read_themes — to detect whether the app embed is active in your theme
• read_products, read_collections — to let you search and select items for the bar
• write_metafields, read_metafields — to store and read bar settings on your shop

We do not request access to customer data, order data, payment information, or any other store data beyond what is listed above.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or store data. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use infrastructure providers (hosting, database) to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
• Business Transfer: If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your app configuration data for as long as you have the App installed on your store.

• App settings (database): retained while the app is installed, and up to 90 days after uninstallation unless you request earlier deletion
• Shopify metafields: stored on your Shopify store — removing the app embed or contacting us will remove these
• Server logs: retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support.shopbar@gmail.com. Upon uninstallation, we process deletion of your store data within 30 days.

6. GDPR — Your Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to or restrict our processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

7. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. 8. Children's Privacy

ShopBar is a business-to-business application intended for Shopify merchants. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Third-Party Services

The App may load resources from the following third-party services on your storefront:

• Google Fonts — loaded on the storefront if you select a Google Font for your bar labels. Google's own privacy policy applies to font requests.
• Shopify CDN — images you upload are stored and served via Shopify's CDN.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy at this URL and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
